Friday 16th September 2016 - Visiting and a Visitor.

This week our focus was RE and we began to think about the symbolism of water in different religions, beginning with Christianity.  We went across to Christ Church and took "baby Rosie" with us so that we could see what happens in a Christian baptism and the role and symbolism of water in the service.

On Wednesday, Richard visited from Anglian Water to remind us where our water comes from, what happens to it before it gets to us and he also talked about water for health and the importance of saving water.  We tested different samples of water to see which was tap water just like the scientists at Anglian Water do, we thought about how water is important in our lives and we also did an experiment to see how much water is wasted when we leave the tap on whilst cleaning our teeth.  We were very shocked to discover that it was 16 Litres!

We have begun our new topic of Chocolate with gusto in Year 3. We are learning the history of chocolate and about its origins.

The children are enjoying discovering characters in our story, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and imagining their own inventions to be considered by Willy Wonka!
