These last two weeks the children have been learning about winter, winter weather and keeping warm in the cold. We have enjoyed exploring ice through the theme of 'Frozen'.
The children firstly explored winter through pictures and books. We went outside and talked about what we could feel and hear.
At the craft table we have painted and printed snowmen and added collage materials. We have explored cold colours through paint mixing and painting on 'icy' foil. The children really enjoyed painting ice and watching the colours as they mixed and melted in the tray.
In mathematics we have counted buttons onto our snowmen, created snowflakes with ear buds and measured snowmen using cubes.
We have opened a 'Winter Woolies' shop and the children have been dressing the teddy bears ready for the cold weather outside.
In cookery we made 'FROZEN' cakes and Olaf snowmen biscuits!
How exciting that snow fell today!!!!!
Next week watch out for roaring dinosaurs..........
