Friday 9th February 2017 - Measuring and Music

Our week began with a visit to the music department at Stamford Welland Academy, where we worked with Mrs Thackwray to learn how to sing a medieval song and accompany it with instruments.  We were very pleased with our singing progress, but we have yet to master the timing with our instruments!

We had great fun out in the playground this week combining our maths and history learning, as we measured out and drew our own castle using metre sticks and chalk.  We had learned that many castles walls could be up to 4 metres thick and so we drew a small castle on the playground with walls measuring just 15 metres in length but 4 metres thick so that we could appreciate the depth of them.

About Me

Name: Year 3

We have begun our new topic of Chocolate with gusto in Year 3. We are learning the history of chocolate and about its origins.

The children are enjoying discovering characters in our story, Charlie and the Chocolate factory, and imagining their own inventions to be considered by Willy Wonka!
