Our learning this week has been around space and our solar system. We have supported this learning through the story of 'Whatever Next'. It was really interesting to listen to the children's knowledge and their own interests that they already have around space.
The children have acted out the role of an Astronaut in our space centre and space environment. We have watched a rocket take off and a clip of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon.
The children have learnt about the planets that make up our solar system and we have reflected on life on other planets through the story of 'Aliens in Underpants'!!!! We had great fun creating our own aliens on balloons and with paint.
We have explored weight by comparing and weighing moon rocks and we have counted down from 10 to 0 to blast off our rockets.
The children finished their week of learning with a picnic on the moon, just like baby bear!
Next week we will be focussing on Astronauts and rockets, there will also be a silver theme running across nursery!
