I would like to extend a very warm welcome back to all pupils and parents. We have enjoyed a really positive start to the new school year and it has been a pleasure to see all of our children back at school, eager and ready to learn.
A very warm welcome too, to our new nursery and reception children and their families and to our new teachers in our Reception, Y6 and Y5 classes.
All classes are now enjoying their new creative curriculum. I will be sending information about our new curriculum out to parents in the near future and full details will soon appear on the website.
I had the pleasure of congratulating Y4 today after they presented an excellent assembly to the whole school about butterflies. The children have been back in school for less than two weeks but were able to confidently share lots of
information with the rest of the school about their exciting new project and the things they have already learnt. Y4 used ICT, models and some excellent reading to tell us all about the classification and identification of British
butterflies. They also recited a poem that they had written themselves. Well done Y4!
We are all looking forward to our open sessions next Monday 22nd September at 9am and 1pm and I hope that lots of parents will take the opportunity to visit your children's new classes and to enjoy learning with them.
I am also delighted that we have been able to arrange two parent workshops on that day on the very important topic of keeping children safe on-line at home. Full details have been sent home by newsletter and I hope that as many of you as possible are able to attend one of the workshops. I look forward to welcoming you to the open learning sessions and the e-safety workshops next Monday.
