Team Work.

The Superhero phone has not stopped ringing this week! Who would have believed it! It turns out that Batman, Spiderman, Ben 10 and even the Power Rangers need help with maths! So we had to help them improve their addition and subtraction Powers and show them how to find 1 more and 1 less!

We have also been talking about values and what makes Superheroes 'super'. We have decided our own Class Values and made a huge display to help us remember. Come and have a look.

We have been working in teams (like The Avengers and The Power Rangers) and our first job was to design a Superhero outfit for our grown ups. We talked about and drew designs. Then we checked which materials to use because Mrs Walton needed her cape to be waterproof so she could work outside.

Finally, we decided who would make each part of the costume and made the outfits!

Other Stuff

What a wonderful trip to Morrisons we had on Thursday morning!

We tried several Italian foods such as fresh Ciabatta with olive oil and fresh basil leaves, various cold pastas, Italian meats and cheeses including a blue cheese.

We tried Italian olives and Greek olives to compare them to.

The butchery department talked the children through the process of making minced beef, used for bolognaise and demonstrated making fresh burgers too.

Our children were also luckily enough to look at and touch various fresh fish including a squid!  We have since tasted some cooked octopus in school which got very mixed reviews!

In school we learnt about how olive oil is made and we visited the oils aisle to look at the various choices on offer.

Morrisons provided cookies and a drink each in the café to conclude our visit which the children (and adults) really enjoyed.
