Our exciting creative curriculum continued this week with our Y1 class visiting the Nene Valley Railway and taking a ride on a steam train. It was a delight to talk to the Y1 children when they returned from their trip. They were so excited and keen to tell me all about their experiences and this memorable day has inspired them to produce some excellent work back in the classroom this week. Please visit the Y1 blog for more details of this trip and a link to the gallery of lovely photographs.
Our Y6 class made us exceptionally proud as they performed their excellent dance routine at the Stamford Dance Fesitval on Wednesday 25th February. They had created their dance with the expert tuition of our dance coach, Stuart Hancock from Premier Performing Arts and did a great job. You can enjoy lots of photos of this event in the Y6 blog.
Our football team were proud to unveil their smart new football kit this week. I am extremely grateful to our corporate sponser, Symphony Kitchens who funded our fantastic new kit and training tops. Our team wore their new kit with pride when they played their match at the Bythams on Thursday!
It was a pleasure to welcome back Sam Ruddock to our school this week. Sam is a very accomplished paralympic track and field athlete who represents Great Britain. He spent an afternoon with some Y6 pupils inspiring them to reach some personal learning goals. Sam worked with the children in the role of mentor, sharing with them details of his own personal challenges and experiences from his education and his journey to becoming a successful paralympic athlete. The children were really inspired by Sam and highly motivated to achieve their aims and goals back in the classroom after the session!
