The Sunbeams have been learning about the different types of food that are sold in a baker's shop. They explored the theme through role play. They took turns to take on the role of the shop keeper and the customer. The children used money to pay for their shopping. We designed our own playdough cakes and bread to sell.
In cookery the children made bread rolls. We then enjoyed tasting them at snack time. Later in the week the children tried a variety of different breads. The reactions ranged from "that's yummy" to "yuck, I don't like that one!" .
