Old MacDonald had a farm.....

This week our learning has been around our new theme 'On the farm'. We have learnt about the different types of farms and this week we have particularly focussed on farm animals. Through research and games we have explored and learnt animal names, animal sounds, the names of baby animals and the correct names of animal homes. We watched a live web cam from Mead open farm.

We have painted farm animals, created a large scale printing farm and made animals using dough and collage materials. We have explored small world resources through sensory trays and we will continue this theme next week with different materials.

In cookery this week we made animal biscuits and fairy cakes!

Towards the end of the week the children 'harvested', sorted and printed with different types of fruit and vegetables.

On Thursday we had great fun cheering on the reception children while they took part in their Skipathon Challenge.

Next week we will be following the journey of wool to a wooly jumper and thinking about the different products and produce that we get from animals and our farms.
