As the end of this term fast approaches, I am really proud to share memories from some of our recent school community events.
Our Ofsted Celebration Event
On 23rd February 2016, we held an open event to celebrate our amazing outstanding Ofsted outcome. There was an air of excitement and pride in our school as children, parents, family members, Governors and other visits joined us for an evening of celebration. Our children are outstanding and I was so proud of them as they shared their learning and success with their visitors. Our Reception class performed their Superhero song, some Y5 children talked with enthusiasm and motivation about their exciting Creative Curriculum and our Young Voices choir performed one of their favourite songs from this year’s concert.
Then all classes from Nursery to Y6 showcased their outstanding learning with vibrant displays and activities that everyone could take part in. There was a wonderful atmosphere in the school that evening and I would like to thank our parent community for your commitment and support for our school.
World Book Week - 7th to 11th March 2016
This week we have enjoyed promoting and celebrating the enjoyment that books and reading can give both children and adults alike. I would like to thank Miss Kinchin and Mrs Thomas who planned and led a whole range of exciting and fun events throughout the week including a quiz, book swap, story-telling and a Readathon. On Thursday we all looked forward to our annual book character dressing up day. Everyone took part with great enthusiasm and there were some wonderful costumes on display! I would also like to thank Alan Gray and Georgina Beresford, two of our reading volunteers from the Stamford Burghley Rotary club who joined us to judge the event and our staff, children and parents for their support and participation.
Finally, I would like to say a very warm welcome to our new children and families who have joined us recently. It is great to have you with us!
