Beaks, feathers and wings!

This week we have been learning new 'wow' words while naming the different parts of the bird. We have created birds through different media and moved like birds in our music and movement session.

We continued to care for the birds in the garden by making cheerio strings, this also developed our fine motor skills as we threaded the cheerios onto a long piece of string.

In cookery we made chocolate nests and observed as the chocolate turned from a solid into a liquid after heating.

Our story focus this week has been 'Owl Babies' and in our letter and sounds sessions the story 'Ants in your Pants' has been a big hit! There has been some great rhyming work this week and this will continue into next week with our new theme around the story of the Gruffalo.

Grandparents Day will take place on Wednesday.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we look forward to another busy week of learning on Tuesday.
